Am I the Only One Without an IPAD?!

Posted by on Sep 9, 2011 in Blog

When I think of an accessory, I generally associate it with a great purse or a rockin’ pair of heels that would highlight an outfit. However, lately I find myself growing fond of technology accessories such as the iPad, and have noted on multiple occasions how cute the smart cover looks on the tablet. I’m not one to spend “fun” money on gadgets but recently I can’t go to work, walk down the street or look at a billboard without jealousy setting in because I don’t own one. Yesterday I went to the Verizon store on Michigan Ave and the iPad 2 was staring at me harder than the Michael Kors handbags at Nordstrom. Talk about a technological revolution!

So you’re thinking ‘how does this correlate with the Multi Family Industry?’ Well, I started working at RentSentinel just 7 weeks ago and have been learning a great deal of new information. In that short time, I’ve watched RentSentinel Tablet come to life and am fascinated with the app’s ability to simplify leasing tasks.

The product demonstration of RentSentinel’s tablet solution proved that anyone can accomplish anything from anywhere. I immediately saw the benefit of Tablet 1.2 for property management companies, and I understand how this innovative app raises the bar and improves business success. I relate it to everyday life and find the convenience factor universally applicable. In this “discovery” phase I went from no interest in the product to looking up the release date of the iPad 3…and adding it to my Christmas list!

As a Property Management Company, you market to people with different tastes, backgrounds, jobs, lifestyles, etc.; however one thing is certain, there is a specific generation that follows new trends and relates to someone who is “in the know.” Additionally, everyone has a story or something that hits close to home. For example, my roommate is passionate about the environment so she would sign a lease with a company using an iPad for the sole fact that it’s a paperless, sustainable option. For me, a 26 year old with hardly any free time, I’m more inclined to sign with a company using the RentSentinel app because I can browse through units and access all pricing information from the iPad quickly without the property manager assisting me. The best part is that I don’t have to shuffle through property information; everything is directly on the tablet. Plus, I feel better doing business with a tech savvy individual; it’s a comfort level you want to provide your apartment prospects.

So in the spirit of being technology savvy, RentSentinel provided their Tablet solution with some new features after the May 10th launch. How can you use Tablet 1.2 with the iPad?!

What you already know Tablet can do for your business success:

  • Guest card preferences are now carried over to the apartment search
  • Revised available apartment search

According to Mr. Webster an accessory is defined as an object or device not essential in itself but adding to the beauty, convenience, or effectiveness of something else (Merriam-Webster). With that said, I think it’s apparent what the next accessory added to my collection will be, with the pink smart cover of course! What about you?
